Meet the faces of our newest Family 6” Icon Boot campaign. We sat down with Free and Wild Child, the nature loving, beach dazing family of five, to hear about their Timberland story.
Why do you wear Timberlands?
Growing up in Norway, you learn all about the great outdoors and the importance of high quality natural fabrics. We wear wool close to our skin and leather on our feet. It is essential staying warm, dry and comfortable. Timberland make the perfect boots for all kinds of weather. Their leather is beautiful and the soles are great for any terrain, urban jungles, tropical bushland and Norwegian woods. The classic and iconic 6” boot is a staple in our wardrobe, perfect to keep both us adults and the kids comfortable on every adventure, big and small.
What do you love to wear Timberlands with / how would you style them?
We wear our boots mostly with pants and jeans: tapered leg, skinny jeans, rolled up legs. What kind of pants you wear doesn’t matter, it's how you style them that does. Our little Miss gets to wear her boots with a larger variety of clothing. Gorgeous little kids have so much more freedom when they dress. But, that said, I feel that there are no limits when it comes to Timberland. They have boots to fit any occasion. How was your experience shooting the Timberland Campaign with your family?
We had such an amazing day on location for Timberland! The location was exciting and fun to explore for the kids, while at the same time had an urban feel (located at the very tip of Balmain at Ballast Point, a beautifully put together park in the North of Sydney)
What do you love about the Timberland iconic 6” boots?
I have always loved the yellow Timberland 6” boot. For me it started years and years ago, way before Beyonce and Jay Z wore theirs in the ‘Crazy In Love’ video. I was into hip hop from the very early days and I always loved this boot. I got my first pair when I was 13. (That would be all the way back in 1995)
What do your kids love about Timberland?
My kids love how comfortable this boot is. The dudes, Luca (10) and Calvin (7), have the waterproof black pair, while Willow (5) has the waterproof yellow boot. This boot is perfect for all three of our explorers. We love hiking around waterfalls and these boots give an excellent grip as well as keeping their feet protected from the environment. Missy wears a lot of colours on her clothing so the yellow boot is definitely the right choice for her, whereas the dudes wear a lot of darker clothing and the black boot is perfect for them.
